Sara Hahn, M.Sc. is a research assistant at the Department of Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Darmstadt) and a doctoral student at the Work and Engineering Psychology Research Group in the Institute of Psychology at Technical University of Darmstadt. Her research interest lie in the area of user intentions regarding privacy and trust, and psychological needs of users.

Dr. Nina Gerber is a postdoctoral researcher at the Work and Engineering Psychology Research Group (FAI), where she heads the PIPS lab. Her research interests lie primarily in the area of user-centered security and privacy and include social factors and dynamics within security/privacy scenarios, psychological methods for creating secure routines, and the process of informed consent. In addition to project management and coordination, she brings expertise in human behavior and perception as well as participatory, user-centered design of interactive systems.

Andreas Heinemann professor for computer networks and IT security at the Department of Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Darmstadt), Germany. He is the head is head of the User-Centered Security Research Group (UCS). His research interests lie in the area of usable security, security for ubiquitous computing, and privacy in opportunistic networks.

Simon Althaus, M.Sc. is a research associate and doctoral student at the Chair of Science and Technology for Peace and Security (PEASEC) and Telecooperation Lab (TK) in the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt. He is doing his doctorate there as part of the ATHENE project PIONEER, which deals with personal privacy assistants. Previously, he was a doctoral researcher of the DFG Research Training Group ‘Privacy and Trust for Mobile Users’. His scientific interests lie in the area of IT security, especially on the topic of data collection and sharing practices of mobile applications.

Dr. Ephraim Zimmer is a postdoctoral researcher at the Science and Technology for Peace and Security (PEASEC) chair at TU Darmstadt. His research focus is on the detection and prevention of cyber threats at the intersection of privacy and security technologies. In projects at TU Darmstadt and the University of Hamburg, he worked on de-anonymization-resistant microblogging approaches, secure federated learning, and the improvement of hashing techniques as a privacy mechanism, among other things. His dissertation, completed in 2020, dealt with privacy-friendly methods for detecting and avoiding insider threats. In addition to his research, he coordinates interdisciplinary doctoral projects, is active in scientific committees such as ARES and PET-CON, and regularly appears as an expert on privacy and cybersecurity in the media, including ARD, NDR and Heise News.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Christian Reuter is Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Technical University of Darmstadt. His chair of Science and Technology for Peace and Security (PEASEC) combines computer science with peace and security research. He holds a Ph.D. in information systems (Siegen, D) and another Ph.D. in security policy (Nijmegen, NL). On the intersection of (A) cyber security and privacy, (B) peace and conflict studies as well as (C) human-computer interaction, he and his team specifically address (1) peace informatics and technical peace research, (2) crisis informatics and information warfare as well as (3) usable safety, security and privacy.

In the PIONEER project, he works as a student assistant and is responsible for technical implementation. His interest in data privacy brought the project to his attention.
